Complex Shapes

The work had been inspired by a quotation of the book, “Komplext kulturarv” by Cecilia Rodéhn and Hedvig Mårdh “Ulleråker is a place that holds mixed feelings: anxiety, despair, pain, confusion, fear and apathy but also security, joy, and everyday life. Therefore, it is a complex place and a complex cultural heritage.”
(Ulleråker är en plats som rymmer blandade känslor: ångest, förtvivlan, smärta, förvirring, rädsla och apati men också trygghet, glädje och vardag. Det är en komplex plats och ett komplext kulturarv.)
The work was produced by cutting and folding randomly one piece of metal. This work will be located as a part of the old bell tower to create complex shapes between the work and the old bell tower.
The work creates contradictions and opposites through these shapes where complexity integrates with essential and past collides present.
